Last Thursday, on the 23rd of September, a team of Rotaract members went to SAVE school in Gombak to give the Somalian children Art lessons. The art pieces drawn by the children will be put up for sale on Art Day.
Here are some of the photographs of the visit:
Look how the children do their part in raising funds for their school. Do come visit the booth on Art Day to see their masterpieces!

Photography Competition
Hi everyone, again! Two more exciting events have popped up in conjunction with Art Day!
Firstly, a photography competition:
And next, a model search:
Photography Competition
I'll start with the photography competition. There's absolutely no theme, so you can submit photos of anything you want. Exercise your imagination, think outside the box. The possibilities are limitless!
It doesn't matter if you don't have a super huge camera with skyhigh megapixels or anything interesting to photograph. I know simply beautiful photographs of commonplace everyday items, taken with a basic digital camera. Just try it out!
Who knows? You could just win this.
Just remember to make sure you submit the photo by the 6th of October (next Wednesday), and you'll do fine.
All the best!
Model Search
Next, we have the model search! If you don't know yet, there is going to be a fashion show on the upcoming Art Day. We're looking for ten models to walk the catwalk for us on Art Day. In my opinion, the best thing about this fashion show are the prizes.
First off, for aspiring models, you get the exposure and the experience. No better place to start than a free fashion show, right?
Not interested in that? Well, how about a photoshoot with Models INC? Out of the ten models walking the catwalk, five will be chosen by a representative from Models INC and will be included in a photoshoot. Exciting, isn't it?
Oh, and did I mention the RM500 prize?
That's right. Apart from the exposure and photoshoot, these lucky 5 winners will each get a cash prize of RM500.
If you have been told to try out modeling before, or know a friend that you think has what it takes, contact us! Call Renesha at 016-6067514.
Well, that's it for now, but stay tuned! Lots is going to be happening now, what with Art Day looming right around the corner!

Jumble Sale
Hey everyone!
The Rotaract club will be organizing a Jumble Sale on the upcoming Art Day (7/9/10)! If you study at the tbs building, you might have seen the posters lying around school. I know we've all got things that we don't need lying around the house, so why not bring them to school next week and give them to us? We'll be collecting your things on the coming Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
More information is on the following poster:
Well, hope to see you lugging sacks of old items around next week!

Art Day 2010
Rotaract Club Taylor's College Subang Jaya proudly presents Art Day 2010, a new day on our Taylor's yearly event calender. Art Day is a day to breath, eat and live art. We hope to promote art in the lives of students studying at Taylor's. Everyone of us have a certain artistic side, we just differ in the type and extent of our artistic abilities. On this day, we shall come together to inspire and show our creative talents.
What's in it for 2010?
This year's Art Day is supported by Deborah Henry our very own Miss Malaysia World 2010 aiming to raise charity for the Somalian kids at the SAVE school. The event will last 9 hours, starting from 9AM to 6PM featuring many interesting activities and booths by our Taylor's students as well as outside vendors. Also while you drown in art, let us spoil your ears with sound by DJ sprash who will be spinning on the day.
So we hope to see you on the 7th of October at Taylor's Main Campus. More info to appear on this site as the event day gets closer.
Lets celebrate art together, cheers!
